The HKS
F-CON S is a plug-in engine
management system that offers
full tuning capability for
turbocharged, supercharged and
naturally-aspirated
applications. Encompassing the
features of a stand-alone system
with the integration ease of a
“plug & play” system, the F-CON
S allows for a full range of
tuning without the loss of
standard main operating
functions and the need to rewire
components and sensors. The
F-CON S provides full fuel
management and ignition timing
control by utilizing the factory
fuel and ignition baseline
curves as reference points and
makes adjustments incrementally
or by re-scaling the curve to
configure a new map. The
ignition timing adjustments can
also be made within the range of
± 15° of the factory
calibrations. Each fuel and
ignition curve of the F-CON S is
a 16x24 point (Load vs. Rpm)
resolution map. Up to 4
different fuel and ignition maps
can be stored internally and set
for various configurations. For
additional fuel enrichment, a
built-in AIC function can
control up to two additional
injectors. The F-CON S can also
be tuned to utilize larger
primary fuel injectors and
maintain a correct idle mixture.
The unit also incorporates
built-in circuitry to eliminate
fuel and speed limiters on
certain applications. The
F-CON S can be used on virtually
any fuel -injected engine with
up to 6 cylinders. By using the
factory airflow/pressure,
throttle position, water temp,
intake air temp and speed
signals, the F-CON S
recalculates the original map
data with inputs from HKS
sensors to enable engine
management functions that are
even more precise than the stock
computer. An internal
self-diagnostic function, can
determine errors not only in the
F-CON S main unit and in its
direct input signals, but also
errors in the airflow/pressure,
crank angle, throttle, water
temp, and intake sensors of the
factory system, is built into
each unit to ensure reliable
management. |
